Hi, welcome to my Hairdressing page!

My name is Elle & I have over 20 years experience as a hairdresser, colourist and stylist.

I have created a unique space, well away from the hustle and bustle of a busy salon environment. It is currently in a woodland setting in East Sussex. Here you can expect a great hair cut, fresh air and relaxation, alongside natural hair and skincare products including 100% plant based natural hair colour, hair and scalp treatments

Haircuts

I have experience cutting and styling all textures of hair, waves and curls including Afro hair. I am a razor cutting specialist and love texturing hair with this tool as well as my scissors, depending on your hairtype and preference - One thing I am not, is a barber. I offer a premium service, where I take my time and my haircuts are designed to work with your natural texture and lifestyle, hopefully lasting a long time and giving you freedom to wear in multiple styles as its grows out.

I cut men, women and children’s hair and offer family sessions where I can cut yours and your childrens hair.

I also offer ceremonial sessions, where we take time to more consciously tend the thresholds that cutting of hair often symbolises. We may take a meditation candle to mark the time for you, set intentions and honour whatever arises.

Blonding & Colour Services

20 plus years in this field and I am still learning every day. New systems and products continue to improve and I LOVE this about my work. I am currently only using 100% plant based and natural colours ( no, NOT HENNA!) for any on-scalp applications of colour. This is a choice I have made for my own health, the health of the planet and the health of my clients.

Blonding and balayage services are available for a very select number of clients (1 day per month) and this is an at home service - message me for enquiries.

Any colour application requires a patch test at least 48 hours before the colour appointment. Please message me for more info.

Bridal Packages

I have created many unique styles for brides and bridal parties and we can arrange a relaxing session for you on your wedding morning. I am also available to travel for weddings - Destination weddings are the best, and having a trusted stylist with you in a remote setting can really give an extra special feel to your day. Family & Friends Sessions

As a mother, it’s important for me to offer a child friendly and inclusive space, there is plenty for the whole family to do on my pop up dates at Wilderness Woods. I love the ocean as much as the forest, and am called to protect our waters, which hold memory and information

I have 20 plus years experience as a Hairdresser & Colourist. I trained and worked in London with the Aveda Institute & Tusk Hairdressing. I worked as a Top Stylist in London before moving to Sussex and working as a freelance hairdresser. I have travelled globally for catwalk shows, session work and weddings.

I am passionate about GENUINE clean beauty and protecting ourselves and our natural environment. I use natural, organic hair care, colour and styling products and avoid single-use plastics.

FAQ’s

Do I cut curly hair? YES! I love to embrace natural texture, waves and curls, and I also understand they can be challenging for some. We are all unique! I will support you in embracing your natural texture and lifestyle aka “curly girl”.

What is Plant Based Colour? I am working with an organic, 100% plant based colour system, created in France by a biochemist, seeking an alternative colour process for hairstylists and individuals with sensitivity to chemical processes. Traditional chemical hair colours (salon and home dyes) as well as Henna’s can contain chemicals and heavy metals which are proven to be harmful to health. Terre Du Couleur is a natural colouring process which does not rely on oxidisation and uses whole plant matter to deliver stunning results. It is suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and contains no harmful chemicals or compounds. It is fully compostable and poses no threat to marine life or ours. Can you visit me at home? It is possible to arrange a home visit. If you have a suitable space and would prefer this option please get in touch. There may be additional costs to cover my time and travel.

I have booked a trial for my wedding hair, what does this involve? I always have (at least one!) trial session with a bride. We will have an initial chat about your dates (and advise we take a deposit to secure the booking!) then we can arrange a ‘trial’ session where we talk about your desires for the day, look at shapes and silhouettes to match your unique style, test any products, styling and shapes, and look at any accessories you might be contemplating. This gives us a clear idea about what we want to achieve, and a clear idea of timings on the day, which ensures smooth running on what should be a relaxing and enjoyable day!
